The Kudzu Review Literary Magazine

I joined The Kudzu Review in Spring 2024 as a Nonfiction Editorial Assistant. My work consisted of reading submissions each week and writing critiques on what I enjoyed about them, as well as what I thought each piece could improve on.

In Spring 2025, I took the ENG-3943 class, which required me to be more hands-on in the magazine. I volunteered at events, would help run a Kudzu table during FSU's Market Wednesdays, and even wrote a blog post that was published on the website.

Finally, Fall 2025 marked the start of my position as Assistant Nonfiction Editor. My new role involved leading a team of people alongside my head editor, and managing things like attendance, reader reports, and more. I would even help write feedback letters to writers submitting to the magazine as needed. In just one semester, I learned a lot about leadership and what working as an editor for a literary magazine is like.
